Patches is found!

Okay so I FINALLY found Patches last night... I kept feeling like she HAD to be under the sofa? So on a hunch I gave looking for her one more look, I flipped the sofa completely on its back and checked closer.... I didn't see anything so i went to lay the sofa back down when i heard a sliding noise followed but a very weak meow... She had crawled up into the arm of the sofa and got herself stuck... she had to have been there for at least 12 hours...pore thing. Kitty is now under room-detention and close watch... she's slightly upset...

Slightly troublesome kitty...hide-and-seek-continues...

Okay, so woke up this morning and went to check and see it Patches had eaten, (she's been slightly home sick so Ive been bribing her with wet cat food and some kitty treats my Aunt game me) looks like she ate a little kibble and she went to the bathroom last night, good to know she found her litter box again (Ive moved it twice now, silly mommy i know.) So after the normal morning check i went to say my good morning, however when i checked under the sofa, she was nowhere to be found...

Okay, and so starts are regular morning of hide-and-go-seek. Check the litter box and food first, all's good as said. Checked under all chairs, sofas, bathrooms everything.... not there either... starting to get a little baffled.

Okay, seeing as i just got back from Florida there are TONS of open bags to hide in and cloths to hide under. So i clean the room and start pushing things around... still no Patches. I gave up after an hour of search and decided to let her be.

Bout an hour later Robbie and i left to go see the new Sherlock Holmes movie (BTW that movie was AMAZING! I advise everyone to go see it). After the movie we stopped so i could pick up my snow pants and then headed back to the dorms.

Once back we preceded to do a more thorough search. Moving boxes, trunks, tables, dressers, opening, cupboards ANYTHING she might have been able to get into. We even went so far as to check behind the fridge and stove... no cat.

Okay, onto faze 3: Operation check roommates rooms. So we checked the roommates rooms. Room 1: A neat freak to no end, it wasn't hard to tell she wasn't in there, there is NOWHERE for her to hide in that room. Room 2: This roommate is in the process of moving out for the second semester, so again there isn't much in the room. It was easy to tell she wasn't in here either. Moving on to Room 3:... doors locked, crap.

Thing you do need to know about this Room number 3... the door to this room sits about an inch and a half off the floor and this roommate left the window open (yes here are screens before everyone freaks out) so theres a nice cold daft coming under the door. What i forgot to mention was that the apartment heat has been broken for 2 days so its been very cold here, hence the snuggling down in the bed yesterday. The guy comes and fixes the heat today so while we were at the movie the heat was left ALL the day UP so the apartment would heat up quickly. We come back and its a freaking sauna in there! I figure Patches got to hot where ever she was hiding and squeezed under the door into the cooler room...that of course is locked.

The rest of the apartment is now cooling off and seeing as we can't find her anywhere are hoping and assuming she is in there and will come out when hungry or needs to use the bathroom. Said roommate moves back in on Saturday sooo if we haven't seen her by then...we got problems.

I smoothed out her litter and piled her food so that if she touches either I'll know... keep your fingers crossed guys. After i find her i think she and i will be having a trip to the vet for a microchip implant...

As of the moment...,

A breakthrough in the hide-and-go-seek game

Day three of the kitty comes home! I wake up and we head to Towson to spend the day with Robbie, we get there and set her loose to hide in one of her fav places. Now thing you should know about the Towson dorms is there aren't to many places a cat can hide. She was staying with me here for the day seeing as i couldn't get back to my apartment right away and Bobby (my roommate) was working, (didn't think it was a good idea to leave her completely alone in her new home for that long unattended.

So a short while later i was feeling slightly under the weather but i bit the bullet and ran my errands and finished my belated Christmas shopping. Once i got back to Towson Robbie had to go to work, i was exhausted and feeling completely drained due to my migraine. So after Robbie left for work i went in search of Patches, soooooo i found her in her now normal hiding spot... under the sofa... go figure. I lift the sofa and scoop her up, she fussed a little but begrudgingly let me.

We went into his room and i put her at the foot of the bed and gently pulled the covers over her head, I then climbed into bed after her and lay down for a short nap. I had turned on the TV to make some whitewash noise so i could sleep, so when i half woke to the sound of a soft motor i shrugged it off to the TV, that is till i felt something soft rubbing on my shoulder. I slowly rolled towards the wall to find Patches had crawled all the way up from the foot of the bed to rub on my shoulder! OMG a break through! She wasn't even flinching when i reached out to pet her, yes! So i pulled her a little closer to me (she didn't like that to much, sunk her claws into the sheets till she realized i wasn't picking her up... she's not a fan of that) and pulled the covers back over top of both of us.

We napped on and off for like 4 or 5 hours, i was so ecstatic that she wasn't trying to run away, leave or even attempt to crawl over me as to have a getaway! Needless to say she stayed in the bed till i went to sleep for the night, at which point she let herself out of the room and i drifted off to sleep.

What a wonderful breakthrough!

Day 2, Wheres that Cat?!?

Okay so after sleeping like a rock last night i wake up EARLY, way earlier then I'm used to. I'm guessing it was because i remembered i had a new roommates to look out for.

I get out of bed and notice she found her litter box, good, she went to the bathroom. I knew she had two, i had had her for 2 and a half days and she HADN'T gone to the bathroom at all. Pore thing was ready to explode before she went. I also noticed she ate some of the food i laid out and drank a lot of water.

After cleaning her box i then went in search of my new roommate. I checker her usual spots from yesterday and where i last saw her, under the bed, nope not there. Closet maybe? Wrong again...45 minutes later and no Patches, i was starting to get worried.

I text one of my friends that was over yesterday to help me brain storm for places she might be hiding. Cats are pretty notorious for getting themselves stuck in small places so in a panic i start moving boxes and looking in closet.

Of course last room i check is the one under renovation, the bathroom. No...she wouldn't go in there to sleep... its all concrete, cold walls and floor as well as full of wood and boxes...*sighs* i move the unhinged closet door, some 2x4's some electrical equipment and sure enough... in the box wayyyyyy in the pack there she is... sound asleep, that is until i scolded her for worrying me. She stretches and yawns and gives me the "yes, and what do you want?" look....ohhhh your trying my nervous cat lol. Needless to say this morning started bright and early and on a very frantic note.

Day 1. Patches comes home!

Meet Patches! My slightly disgruntled new roommate!

Okay, so as of two days ago I adopted the cat (Patches) from my Aunt. She is a very shy and reluctantly trusting cat, I’ve had to move slow and be on my best behavior with her around as to insure that she makes an easy and comfortable adjustment.

Day one went off without much to say. As I expected her to do, she hid, soon as i let her out of her carrying bag. She has adopted several dark spots as her own and is making it very difficult for me to interact with her.

I'll give you guys a list of her new favorite places and you can guess which one is her most favorite; 1. Under my bed, 2. In my closet behind boxes, 3. under my TV or 4. in my boyfriend lacrosse bag. What’s that you say? under the bed? nope that was earlier. Hmmm the closet? Wrong again, of all the places she chose my boyfriends lacrosse bag....*sighs* HOW she got in there I’m still not sure, but she’s made herself very comfortable and she won’t more for ANYTHING.

Her regular spot today has been under the TV though, will see where she goes next.

I did have one little glimmer of hope out of her today though (yesterday really just posting this a day late), she crawled out from under my bed around 12ish when I was headed for bed. I guess she thought i was sleeping, she wandered around the room and explored by herself for about 5 minutes until she noticed me watching her and cautiously slinked back under the bed.

There is hope yet, I’ll be posting more pictures in a bit.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Playing Catch up...not ketchup

Wow, it's been a bit. I'm not really sure where to start really. I have recently come into the possession of a PS3! I had a little Black Friday shopping trip, i have to admit it was by far one of the best and worst experiences of my life.

I am currently looking into the possibility of adopting a 3yr old cat named Guido. He is a tiger striped tabby and is in need of a loving home. Only problem is i might be forced to wait to schedule a home visit from PEDA till after i return from Florida.

Which now brings me to point number 3! I'M GOING TO FLORIDA!! That's right, Christmas is going to be pretty warm this year. I will be flying out of BWI Friday the 18th at like 6am and arriving in Flaglure sometime mid afternoon, I'm gonna have a6 hour lay over OMG!

Work is going well and i don't really have any complaints. Bobby and i just finished collecting the money we need to pay of the carpet...finally. Once that's taken care of we will be moving to install a window in the old cole shoot in the closet, finish water proofing the walls and then lay carpet so we can FINALLY have a walk in closet. After that rooms done we have to wait for the summer to start the work of the bathroom. Also on a side note i think the rest of my painting in my room is going to have to wait till this coming spring/summer, its getting a bit cold to leave the doors open when painting.

School is so-so. I really was hoping for better grades this semester, but as always i have somehow found a way to let myself down. I'm striving and pushing to do well on my finals to attempt to pull my GPA up... there is a possibility that i'll be needing a high GPA in the next year.

On a personal note im having serious writers block for this term paper that was supposed to be due like two weeks ago... my teacher doesn't really care so long as i get it done, i have just seemed to hit a wall.... hate when that happens.

Well thats all of the catch up from the last month. Keep me in your prayers guys, and Happy Holidays!
